First came the $95M Mel Tucker ‘Decade of Dominance’ contract — cut short in year two by scandal and now tied up in an $80M lawsuit that may outlive us all.  Then MSU pivoted to Jonathan Smith with a seven-year deal, only two seasons of disappointment into which MSU lets him go for 'underperforming' with a  estimated buyout of $33.5M. So much for pay-for-performance.

Well, nothing says “a fresh start” now like hiring Pat Fitzgerald at $22M+ performance incentives over five years. Sure, he was cleared of criminal wrongdoing from the Northwestern hazing controversy, but it certainly a shrug at the optics and raises some eyebrows around can we do better... let’s hope it’s not another re-entry point into the cycle of chaotic hires.  

This shirt is a bit catharsis and humor (not really). It’s a wearable “c’mon man…” for every Saturday that ends the same way.
